City Central Building is more than a place to work; it’s the heartbeat of downtown Ponca City. A project of the Ponca City Development Authority, this landmark building was donated to the City of Ponca City in 2018 and transformed through a vision of what a thriving downtown could look like.

Through strategic investment, including over $2.1 million in federal grants, City Central underwent a top to bottom renovation, updating bathrooms, common spaces, coworking areas, and modern meeting rooms. The results speak for themselves: occupancy climbed from just 18% to an impressive 97% by mid-2026. What was once an underutilized building is now one of the most active addresses in Ponca City.

 

City Central draws over 5,000 visitors each month, plus the over 200 people that work at the building each day. These are neighbors, entrepreneurs, professionals, and community members who eat at local restaurants, shop at downtown businesses, and invest in our community. This steady flow of activity has sparked real demand for more storefronts, office spaces, and dining options throughout downtown. Community development at its best.

 

Our coworking spaces and Entrepreneur in Residence program have launched businesses. Grown right here at City Central and moved on to larger spaces of their own, including My Media Matters and Sunny Creek Trading Post. We couldn’t be prouder to have been their starting point.
